Microsoft Teams for Education Introduces a New 'School Connection' Feature for Smartphones

Microsoft Teams for Education introduces a new feature called School Connection designed for smartphones, aiming to provide parents a more effective way to monitor their kids' academic progress. According to Microsoft, this new feature, aimed at K-12 grade students, allows parents to view their children's upcoming school assignments; understand which ones are due, completed, or overdue. Parents with multiple children can efficiently manage all their academic activities, regardless of whether their children attend different schools or are in different grades. Monthly trends of a student’s digital activity, reading growth, and assignment submissions are visible in the Teams mobile app. Recognising their child's strengths and improvement areas, parents can provide tailored support. If parents are interested in getting School Connection feature at their child's school, they can persuade school administrators to initiate the process. However, currently, the School Connection feature is unavailable in certain Microsoft Teams for Education markets, especially in the EMEA region. Schools in these regions interested in the School Connection feature can express their interest via signup. Microsoft launched its Teams for Education app in October with new features added in November and early December. This includes features allowing teachers to reuse modules and collect assignment feedback from students.
